Embark on an insightful discussion with Floran Lambie, the visionary behind Trullii Modular Home Systems. In this Q&A, we navigate the innovative landscape of modular construction, uncovering how Trullii is reshaping apartments into a consumer-driven product. This revolutionary approach emerges as a distinctive response to address the urgent and complex affordable housing crisis in Canada.

Q1: Tell us about Trullii Modular Home Systems and why you believe there's a need for a fully automated modular house factory.

Floran Lambie: Trullii is at the forefront of bringing the benefits of mass production to home construction. We're transforming the traditional approach by building homes on automotive-like production lines, delivering a fully engineered and integrated product. The need arises from the desire to revolutionize the housing industry, introducing efficiency and innovation on a scale never seen before.

Q2: How did the company originate, and what are its current objectives?

Floran Lambie: Trullii originated from a vision to change the way we think about housing. Our current objectives revolve around launching the first fully automated modular house factory. We aim to set a new standard for efficiency, affordability, and sustainability in home construction.

Q3: Trullii aims to address the urgent affordable housing crisis in Canada. Can you elaborate on the solution and the impact it can have?

Floran Lambie: The factory is the game-changer. We plan to produce 1200 apartments per year on one shift, with the goal of ramping up to 2400 apartments annually on two shifts. This efficiency allows us to finish a 200-unit apartment building, move-in ready, in less than 12 days – a pace that is unprecedented in the industry.

Q4: How do these modular apartments contribute to economic affordability?

Floran Lambie: The efficiency of our factory and modular construction methods significantly reduces construction time and costs. This translates into a more affordable product for our consumers without compromising quality or design.

Q5: What challenges do you anticipate in advancing and streamlining the efficiency of modular housing as a model for providing housing in Canada?

Floran Lambie: Challenges will include navigating regulatory frameworks, ensuring widespread acceptance of modular construction, and continuously innovating to stay ahead of industry demands. We're committed to overcoming these challenges to make modular housing a mainstream and preferred choice.

Q6: What are Trullii's goals for the future, and do you plan to operate only in Atlantic Canada?

Floran Lambie: While Halifax is our home and the location of our first factory, our vision extends far beyond Atlantic Canada. In the next 10 years, we aim to be operational in the six largest cities in Canada, contributing to the transformation of the entire national housing landscape.

Q7: Can you update us on the construction progress of the factory?

Floran Lambie: Our target is to officially open in June 2025. Currently, we have completed stages 1 and 2, including finalizing factory and robotics engineering plans, proprietary software development, and nearly completing the factory design. We are now actively working on securing financing for stages 3 and 4, which involve purchasing the robots, production lines, and the actual construction of the factory.

As Trullii Modular Home Systems gears up for a transformative journey, Floran Lambie's insights offer a glimpse into a future where innovation and efficiency redefine the way we build and inhabit homes. Stay tuned for more updates as Trullii paves the way for a new era in modular construction.
